Gunars started his professional life as an officer in the US Marine Corps, serving for eight years in various aviation and air command and control billets. He got out as a captain and found a second career as an Ethics and Compliance Officer in the aerospace industry. After six years in corporate ethics, Gunars decided it was time to pursue some life goals, first by completing a 2,650-mile hike on the Pacific Coast Trail, and then by returning to school to earn a B.S in computer science while working as a cheesemaker.

Jeanmarie has an incredible depth of experience in managing assignments and personality disorders. We were able to convince her to join our Administrative team by promising more than we could deliver (it worked!). She engages each day with tireless, positive energy which is weird to most of us grumpy, on-edge humans.

With a name like Ty Seattle Thunder, undoubtably one of the first questions he is asked in introductions is how does anyone end up with a name like that? The answer comes from his background as a second generation Thai American. Thai names generally have a direct meaning and an aspirational value associated with them. As his mother immigrated to the US when she was his age, she gained a great respect for the Native American heritage that the city of Seattle gets its namesake from while living in it. So, to reflect her journey, Ty is Seattle’s American name and Seattle is his Thai name.
From a young age, Ty was interested in everything music and learned to play piano and cello. This developed into a passion for composition and music production. While he studied mechanical engineering, he spent his free time learning audio engineering and the art of mixing and mastering. Through working in the AV industry, Ty blends his passion for deeply understanding complex systems with his creativity to bring a fresh perspective to solving the technical challenges that Madrona Digital faces.
