Why Madrona Digital

You may be wondering about our name and the curious logo. We picked this name for a few reasons. First, wanted something that spoke to the power of digital technology in the way it has transformed just about everything we touch in entertainment. Today, the images in our cameras, the music in our portable players and computers, and video -- whether online or on DVD/Blu-ray Disc -- all come in digital formats.

Digital content is powerful because it can be moved around without any degradation. When you transfer a song from your PC to your music player, it preserves its full fidelity. This kind of flexibility gives us incredible power in the way we can expand where and how you enjoy your content.

Of course, not everything is digital and we don't mean to have a singular focus here. Audio components such as amplifiers and speakers are still analog and many people enjoy LPs and even Reel-to-Reel tapes. But there is no denying of the power of today's entertainment technology driven by the transformation to digital and the benefits it gets from advancements in computing technology.

The other part of our name is a tree but not any ordinary tree. Madrona is a native of Pacific Northwest and is extremely unique both in looks and its makeup. The latter is what really caught our eye. The bark of Madrona tree is a beautiful orange. It naturally peels, exposing a lovely shade of green (see the background of our logo above). What does any of this have to do with our business? Well, for us, preserving the beauty if your home through architectural products is as important as getting the best technical performance out of them.

In the same vein, the green bark in the Madrona tree signifies our focus on bringing energy efficiency to systems we design.

OK, we also confess that we simply like the sound of "Madrona Digital!" It is a phrase which combines technology with nature better than any other....
