HomeLogic/Elan is a compact and very easy to program system. It supports Apple touch-screen surfaces such as iPad and iPhone and integrates nicely and easily with various systems in the home such as heating and cooling, security, lights, etc. Ease of programming also means the cost of the system is lower as you save in labor costs.

Lutron dominate the market for elegantly designed lighting and shade systems. Their performance is exceptional which is a key requirement in our book. When you hit a light switch, you want it to work and work every time! With great wireless support, Lutron system can be retrofitted into existing homes. Lutron shade systems are exceptionally quiet and precise (multiple shades open and close in unison). And they look of the keypads is second to none, especially when combined with Trufig.

HAI is primarily a security system but can also be used as a smarter system, handling some low level automation tasks. We do not however recommend it as a general automation system as its capabilities are more limited in that regard as compared to say, Home Logic/Elan.
